Mouth of the Current River - Fisherman's Road
Port Arthur, like many other communities, was built near the water and centred around the shipping and rail industry. Look to the south. Can you see the tall building there? This is a grain elevator. When the railway was completed in the late 1800’s, the flow of grain was essential to expand the economy of Thunder Bay.
Clue: Follow the dip in the land toward the river and beyond the asphalt loop. This is a good place to see the grain elevator and the post.
