Heron Mission Island Marsh Conservation Area

Mission Island Marsh Conservation Area - 105th Street

Did you know that the east end of the island used to be a landfill site for the City of Fort William? Good thing they changed this special location into a conservation site! The wetlands here are the home to many migrating birds because it is a naturally safe space for them to make the nests and search for food. With the continued protection of this marsh, we can ensure that these seasonal visitors come to see us every year.

Clue: The post is near the Great Lakes Heritage Coast display panel.
